5v power source in engine bay

Looking to hook up my map sensor and it needs a 5 volt reference. I heard the tps sensor uses 5v but I can't locate it. Can somebody point me int he right direction of where I can find a 5v source?

Whoops sorry about that. Never asked an electrical related question, but thanks mod for pointing me in the right direction . There has to be somebody that knows where I can find a 5v source in the engine bay.

Get your multimeter and check your maf plug. Almost certain there is a switched 4-5v power source there. Good luck.

If you cannot find it use 12V make a small loop with the bulb, put your DVM in between the wire and the bulb and measure the current. From there use the Ohms law
V=I*R
Voltage = Current * Resistance

Since you are looking for the right resistor your equation will look like this
R=V/I
You know your V = 12V, and you will know your current by measuring it. Divide one by the other and you will know what kind of resistor to put in to get 5V. You will need to put the resistor in series.

Bulb? DVM? Not sure what you mean with those two things, but I'd rather not fiddle with resistors on a 12v since they might jiggle off and plus expell heat. The last thing I want to do is have my map sensor fail which is the primary source of my boost monitoring.

I'm so newb. Where is the maf plug located in the engine bay? I think it's attached to the intake side? I need a constant 5v and I'm afraid a 405v switch might cause some problems.

The stock MAF and MAP sensor are both 5v sensors.
