Wow that is awesome, I wanted to do this my self (the blackedout look). Where did you get it done? Price? Is that the Buschur race front mount or what? Looks great though

Hey J ,
thanks for dealing with all my BS over the phone when you guys were waiting on endtanks... INSTALL took me less than an hour ... piece of cake..
I paid 55 bucks to get it anodized.. as I get some discounts from the a place here in jackson... I am sure any anodizer in your area would do it for less than 100 bucks... Most expensive part was the caps that he had to buy, because basically he had to fill the IC full or water first so that it would SINK in his tanks he kept on telling me damn "that cooler there sure do hold a lot of water" hahahaha

Looks good, but the front shot doesn't look like it's very black....probably just the lighting. Any chance you'll be able to snap some in the daylight?
I would have liked to see the intercooler dyno'd without the coating, and then again with it after......

yes I WILL get some pics of it during the day when it is cleaner and you can see more detail...
the whole process is quite interesting... but one draw back is that if there are ANY blemishes on the IC they will show up significantly more in a negative way on the IC .
As far as dyno numbers I have no idea whether this will increase/decrease... BUT IN theory it should not affect the cooling properties of the IC as anodizing changes the metal on a molecular scale... so that it can accept dye... Unlike painting your IC which in somecases could act like a blanket for your IC ... just my two cents I am sure someone will chime in

thanks
as far as performance goes... whether it is an increase or a decrease I can't tell because I don't know but I doubt it hinders performance... it just gets rid of the "hey look at me I am big front mount come race me please" That is what I wanted to get rid off because I was so tired of dealing with the stupid kids in this town that think they have to race me to prove something.
