Yeah, those are the winter tires. I sold the Advans because I plan on buying a set of 18 inch black TE-37's or British Black Prodrive GC-05's. I don't know what tires I will get yet but I will have awhile to think about it. I will not be financially ready untill around Nov-Dec timeframe.

What do you mean? Sorry, poor rims because of the color or because of the possibility of painting the lip red.
The factory color of the MR BBS rims was to light for the GG of the car. In the sun the color contrast bothered me which is why I painted them a much darker grey than the GG on the car. I don't feel the rims should be a lighter shade than the color of the car. Not to mention, I like dark rims on my cars. I usally don't like gold, silver, or light gunmetal shades on my rims. It's just a matter of opinion, thanks for letting me know yours.

You painted them very nicely, but it's a very expensive set of BBS's. Me personally I'd keep them stock paint but since you said their stock color didnt suit your taste then by all means, change it. Again, awesome job with the color scheme but if I had those on my evo I'd leave them stock.

Yeah, neither am I. The only reason I never got the other side done today is because I had to totally strip the first rim I did. I tried to spray it without first sanding. When I sprayed the rim it had serious fisheye's and the paint would'nt stick to the rim. I had to go buy Aircraft stripper from Autozone, drive to the car wash, jack up the car and take off the wheel, then do 7 applications of stripper and blasting with the high pressure sprayer. I found the right formula for a flawless paintjob after my first screwup. First sand with 320 grit, wipe with a degreaser (I used Castrol Purple cleaner), tape off tire, spray first with a good primer, and then paint with whatever paint you want. If it would'nt have been for that mistake, I could have been done today. Now I have to drive around with the passengers side painted and the drivers side factory color. Hopefully I can finish tomorrow. Also, I probably will not paint the lip, to much of a pain with all the masking I would have to do. I don't feel like doing all that just for a red lip.

Looks great. I would have thought they were black. Either way, the wheels are nice.

It's funny how you will drive with two diff color rims on each side. Other than that your rims came out great and definitely looks better than the lighter stock color. The red lip idea gotta go though.....

yours turned out very good, im thinking about doing this to my IX MR wheels, but what do u guys think about a ApexSilver Lip? I got a Apex Silver MR. I dont like having the REALLY dark rims becuase they blend too well with the tire.
