Need Help Installing Oem Hood Vent Onto Carbon Fiber Hood !!
Hey all,
I need help installing the OEM hood vent/grille onto a oem style carbon fiber hood? I don't wish to glue it down lol. But i've seen that plenty of people have done it. I'm just wondering how.
If anyone can get me pics or a how-to or anything it would be much appreciated.
thanks in advance!
I want mines to look like this:
Even better if I can get the stock vent in there too, such as this guy:

i have installed it on mine... it takes time man... i bolted the rainguard onto the hood then bolt the vent onto the fiberglass rainguard and use a dremel tool to cut the center vent out... i can post some pictures later

I just saw an evo today which used custom made brackets to hold it in. It was really interesting but very effective. Im going to be doing it to my car sometime with the next couple of weeks.

I did it to mine with no problem at all... I put it they way I took it off the stock hood.. but this time I used washers because the wholes are too big for the screws (I don't know if I'm making sense but I'll take pictures later)

Sounds like a lot of work.
What do you guys think? Is it okay to just go without the hood vent thing?
I just got my CF hood on yesterday, but i live in Seattle (Rain) and i don't park in a covered area overnight or anything. Mainly the thing that worries me is when i go outside this morning and see water covering my intake. Not to mention everything else.
What do you think, should i definatly look into some kind of custom installation for the stock vent?
