Quick question though. Can you layer the wax? I know w/the Meguiars NXT wax, you don't need to layer the wax. Is it the same w/the ICE?

It all depends on you. Not the wax (Turtle Ice). It all depends on the prep work.
A pure wax is just a layer of glossy protection. It adds a little depth to the look, but for the most part, it's just there to protect.
If you have swirls, and use a pure wax, you'll see it more because all you've done is make a swirl shiny,
Now, enter products like NXT, and the Ice stuff. They are designed for the lazy. It has fillers and cleaning properties to try and make things look good. Ultimately, it can't replace a good prep job, but for people who need everything in 1 step, this may be the product for you.
For me? I do proper prep and I Zaino it to get the benefits of longevity of a synthetic.
I could put just about anything on top and it would look good, but that's because I put in the effort to claybar and polish the car beforehand.
Wax is just about sealin up your work and adding a lil shine.
If you want a wax that hide imperfections, you're working with cleaner/waxes. Whole different market. All depends on your needs.
