Is it just me or does the 38" fairing seem a bit small? I just got mine in and compared to most other vehicles, the fairing reaches the edges of the roof, many people have told me mine looks small on my car.

Also does anyone have the install instructions (more like measurements), for the Yakima rack?

it seems like most people are using Yakima and the towers have an attachment over the pillar instead of just being mounted on the roof without support.

paint/scratching issues?

My yakima with wind deflector wore a bit of the paint on the roof from the little foot pads. This was from dirt getting under it and grinding it into the paint over the years.

Also be VERY careful of mounting boards upside down or the bindings can touch the roof, even the soft parts of the bindings can wear into the paint after time.

I highly recommend getting clear vinyl and putting it on those areas for the snow season

I put a strip of clear packing tape under the foot pads of my Yakima. I've been using my rack for two seasons, and have had no issues with marring or scratching the paint.

yup ... usually if you get a 38" bar you should get a fairing a few inches longer.. so 44" is best
