I probably would never have noticed it. I don't know if there is any damage to the crash bar as they didn't take off the bumper, they just quoted me for the visual damage.
I also don't see how you think the Chargespeed isn't ricey, when you think the JDM 9 bumper is. Show the Chargespeed bumper to your wife, I bet she won't like it either.

stock bumper FTMFW!!
and i dont like the JDM 9 bumper at all
they should of made the top part come down longer and made it more exhaust friendly and the diffuser more distinctive, IMO
it shows way too much of the exhaust and just gets you in cop trouble
and see what happens if you get in an accident and the insurance or police find that you have no crash beam

get a ukdm rear then:
one rear fog,
2 rear fog.
it's distinctive, and has the little foglight, maybe even get the tails w/ the amber strip.
I got rear ended twice in my evo. the first time, the bumper cover had virtually no damage, enough so i did not have to get it painted, however, there was damage to under the bumper, and the trunk, it even had to go on the straightener to get the bottom rail of the trunk straightened out. my advice is get the work done by a shop, because there could be hundreds of dollars of hidden damage underneath the bumper cover that might not be seen w/o taking off the cover.
Other drivers insurance company offered me $1,000 for the damage, i declined and made them repair it. total bill to repair it was $1,900 including time spent of the frame rack!!! I almost
lost out on $900!!!
