I like the white too...but I dunno about how it'd look when it was finally done and on the car with the bumper.

What I actually did was painted the whole housing black, but the ring around the HID projector was white...but I screwed up the paint and didn't feel like re-doing it...so I just painted it black.

I gotta get more clear coat. Unfortunately I had to spray this with spray can paint. I was out of automotive paint.

any idea on how much the tsx projectors go for?
They go for 160-200 or so.
They are not drop in though. You're going to have to modify a bunch of stuff.

1. Shave 3 corners of the projector housing
2. Shave and modify the stock mounting tabs
3. Either shave the 4th corner of the projector housing or cut a hole in your turn signal shroud. (The projector is wider and the edge hits the turn signal shroud)

well. this cost me $0.
I had projectors, a spare set of new D2S bulbs, and spare ballast from my IS300 fog lights.

I didn't want to spend money after just buying the car. I also get the functionality of the TSX projector rather than the EVO.

As far as a tutorial. This stuff involves some finesse. Measuring, grinding, fitting, leveling etc. It's really one of those things where if you don't think you could push yourself through it, a tutorial really wouldn't help.

My IS300 when it was working. I took it apart to build the motor and for more upgrades. Currently under the knife...the broke dull knife. It'll get done after winter.

The retro on my IS300 with S2000 projectors

Hey man, nice pics/work.

Just curious, I've done retrofitting into past honda cars that me and my bro have had. Used valeo ece's, bosch's, bixenons. When you had everything apart, do you think s2000's would work in our evo lamps? I know the base of the s2000's doesn't give you much to work with as far as mounting goes. Any advice would be helpful!

I know most people don't care about lighting on this forum as well as many others, but S2000's and TSX projectors are much better than our stock projectors.

www.hidplanet.com Is a good place to start if anyone is curious to learn about retrofitting.

Nice. I used to have TSX projectors in my '96 GSX. The Evo VIII hid projectors are not wide enough for me, so I'll be retrofitting some S2000 projectors in some spare set of lights that I have.

Here's what they looked like in the GSX.

And here's what I'm currently working on.

The S2000 has the best beam pattern and cut off IMO.

But damn your came out real nice. Good work.

Very nice. Now if you have spare time, retrofit the stock halogen projectors in the foglight area and you've got yourself some fog lights!

Some night-time pics.

My other car does have a 2JZ.
I'm using the TSX because the S2K housing is bigger. I have that in my IS300. It also is a little longer I believe.

There are width and length constraints in the IX housing. Too long and it'll hit the metal sheetmetal in the engine bay. Too wide and you won't be able to clear your side turn signal shroud.

I did not colormod my TSX as I don't think I really care about color. I was more concerned about light output compared to halogen. I told myself a few years ago I'd never drive a car without HID's ...so I had to make this happen.
