Anyone tried this?

It's only 3 oz. so maybe too light? Will it be less temperature sensitive than a titanium knob? Should just feel like plastic, right?

What are the advantages/disadvantages to a lighter or heavier shift knob?

Thanks all!

Some people say that a heavier knob will help with a smoother feel between shifts. I have a GReddy counterweight knob, and it made a slight difference on the feel, but nothing to rant and rave about....I think it's just more a personal preference.....my 2cents

I think its just a personal thing...for me...I cant stand using leather or a light knob, I dont like the feel of the leather and light knobs are just not my cup of tea...to me the heavier knobs just feel...right

if you're going for cosmetics...that's a nice piece...efficiency...counter weight helps shifting...for better engagement and lower mis-shifts

the heavier shift knob gives more of a pendulem feel so it feels better shifting fast.

To be honest with you I had a Sparco counterweighted shift knob and the greddy one on my evo and I didn't like either one of them. I now have the stock one on and I believe it gives me the best feel.

my heavy shift knob made a HUGE difference in smooth shifts for my GSR. that crappy plastic baseball wasn't cutting it.

OK, so I get something heavier. How about the 46mm A-Spec Titanium Ball ? I'm thinking since it's my wife's car and her hands are small the 46mm would be better than the 50mm.
