I orginally got the amber LEDs with them (they come standard now) to match the dash but the boost gauge was much dimmer than the oil temp/psi. So I called 42 DD and ask them why that was. They said the mechanics of the boost gauge don't allow as much light to pass through to the front of gauge as the other two. So they suggested I get the high intensity LED for the boost and go with the regular in the other two. They don't have the high intensity ones in amber yet, so I went all red (high Int. boost and normal in the other two). Now the boost gauge is slightly brighter than the other two. I don't mind though.
I have thought about going all HI red/white/blue .

Getting it tuned by Moses at Axiom today!

- Weapon R Catch Can
- Tanabe Front/Middle/Rear under arm bars
- 42 Draft Designs SW gauge Kit (Boost/OIL temp/Psi)
I know the intake isn't really the greatest mod on an Evo, but figured I would give it a shot since it came with the UICP. The turbo is really loud and the DV sounds like VTA BOV now. No drivability issues or idling problems yet. I had the top section of the UICP blow off the bottom section on the first drive and the DV come off the intake pipe on the second trip. Aqua Net and making all the t-bolts tighter fixed that though.
I should have done some more research on catch cans before getting the Weapon R. Turns out it is a poor design and I really should be running a dual catch can if I want to do it right. It does fit nicely and was easy to install though.
The DP, TP and FMIC have made the most noticeable difference (other than the intake noise . No CEL (Ultimate Racing's no CEL TP design seems to work) yet and perfect fitment on all (including the DP).
The 42 Draft Designs Stewart Warner gauge kit seems very accurate and fits perfectly.
I will hopefully be getting the car tuned this weekend at Axiom in Lakewood.
Questions and comments are most welcome.
