is there any way for me to find out if I have HID's or not?

EDIT: My window sticker says "projection type halogen headlamps" so I guess that means no HID for me.

Great! you just commented on somthing you are not qualified to. drive behind the wheel of my car or a car with these exact blubs, then open you mouth.

same color as any honda, acura, infinity, mercedes, audi, jaguar, or any other car with hid's. listen dude I would be the 1st to take them off and punt if that were the case. I need to see the road when I drive, lots of hwy's around here with no steet lights around here. In fact I can see better with these.

Yes to get hid you would have to get an hid retrofit kit. It runs about $300.00 w/bulbs. I got them for my fog lights.

Here's a good link about HID lighting....

http://www.intellexual.net/hid.html#quickover

It's very informative and a good read for those considering upgrading their lighting setup.

who sells the retrofit kit to make the factory hid's better without switching bulbs? also why does the bulb start out the color of every other hid I have seen and then when it warms up it goes to a yellow like an halogen bulb?
I have had other cars where the blue bulb was too blue an I couln't see shizzel. It is not the case with these bulbs. Also the like discussed the "bleeding" of llight out of the projected area. I do not have this problem, not because it does not exist, but because I don't believe this bulb is actually 8k. At any rate my car looks like a car w/ a hid set up now instead of a car that just has halogen projector beams. I can still see everything fine.
I will let you know if my eyes get tired/fatigued

That's absolutely hilarious.

ALL OEM HID EQUIPPED VEHICLES come with 4100/4300k bulbs for a REASON.

4100/4300k is the OPTIMUM light output temp. Honda, Acura, Infinity, oh even Mercedes, Audi, and Jaguar you say? Guess what! They all come with 4100/4300k OEM right from the factory. Do you have any idea where that beautiful color/flicker comes from? It's from the DESIGN of the PROJECTOR, LENS, and CUTOFF SHIELD of FACTORY EQUIPPED OEM HID VEHICLES. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the bulbs.

So yeah, I guess i'm not qualified to understand that sticking into your car a pair of HID bulbs rated higher than 4100/4300k will result in a REDUCTION OF LIGHT OUTPUT (especially a ridiculous increase such as 8000k). Yep, takes a real qualified professional to make that realization.

All I am saying If I can't notice the light output decrease, does it exist? Probably. I will take the look of the other cars that have better hid devices than instead of spending 2g's on a better hid device. btw, I don't believe the 8k rating they advertise. I think it's closer to 6k, and I can live with that. Look at those pix, do they look so blue that they could be 8k? I have seen 8k on a car and it was much more blue. Maybe someday I will upgrade the actual lens and unit, until then I guess I will be running into things because I can't see shizzel.

D2S is the bulb our cars take

I have these 8000k bulbs too with no reduction in night visability and they look cool, so they have both form and function.

I guess nobody read the info on the link I posted.

Anyway, nothing against all the guys with higher temperature HID bulbs but you really have to experience being blinded by a car with higher temp HID bulbs to know why 4,100k / 4,300k is the standard.

While most Evo owners are young and have good vision, do remember that older people are prone to have temporary vision loss when introduced to different lighting conditons.

I have no problem with the 6,000k bulbs since they are intended to match the color temp of a broken-in HID bulb.

I did read it...please send me a paypal for the amt. of a headlight conversion that will make my hid's look real. I will be happy to install and take out my bulbs, and stop blinding oncoming traffic. No really my hid's that say they are 8k I think are really 6k color. They look white when on the road and do not glare!

There's a switch to move the line of the HID up and down, maybe you have it all the way down...

I've never had a problem with the factory HID's. I put 4100k in my type R. Why? Because they give off the MOST light. If I wanted color I'd go with 14k, but what make the road look pretty? Doesn't do anything else.

Alex is right 100%.
