hid conversion ebay bulbs 8000k?

these are bulbs I got off ebay for $80.00 they say they are a genuine JDM bulb and the box says made in Japan.

The color is great! It lights up the road perfect and bluish white instead of yellowish white. I have seen many posts that call 8k too blue or not visible to the eye. I think it has to do with the manufacturer. These are the same color bulb I have seen on a website called 5500k, from a different mfg.

Anyway these cost about 1/3 of what I have seen so I thought I would let people know.

here is where I got them.

Looks good. Is that a air horn I see on the car? If so what is powering it?

was it a full HID kit, or did you just buy the bulbs and put them on your non-HID evo? by the way the link doesn't work.

I have factory hid's and just upgraded the bulb. If you have factory hid's you will notice when you 1st turn on the lights, they are this color. They change after a few seconds to a yellowish white. Now the bulbs stay that initial color for $80.00.

No, but it is fun...my kids love when I do it. FYI the horns are a japanese/european alternating hi/low horn like an emergency vehicle.

Did you upgrade to the factory hid's? I didnt think you could get hid's on an evo except for the ssl and mr's. When I bought my car I remeber reading it ws equipped with "composite hid's," but figured I didn't have HID's because of the yellow white hue. Do I just need to upgrade the bulb? Thanks for your help.

My 03 gsr came with hid's factory, some cars don't. (FYI you can fix that too) I just upgraded the bulb. If you have hid's and don't like the color (like me) here is how to do it.

I got this from evodave, he has been a big help.

Man those look really good and i'm almost convinced to buy a set of these but can you post more pics on the road or a pic of your car outside on the streets to see how far the light output reaches. Plz!

well... I took out all the lights for a treatment from evodave, so it will be a week & 1/2 or so until I get them back. I should have taken pix on the street when I had it there. Sorry, will post when I can.

I fixed the link, it may show some shots of cars on the road, same bulbs I have.

Great! You just lost a significant amount of light output in exchange for a bit of extra color..

Function > Form. The End.
