CCW Classic in 17s

im not a big fan of running big rims... i would like to keep stock 17" and run wider tires and benefit from the lighter weight... i really love the CCW Classic... but all that i seem on evo are 19s and 18s... does anyone have picture of it in 17s???

If you go to the website, you can see some vettes with the 17's, some of which are my dads (Blue Grand Sport, Black ZR1). Or did you only mean on an Evo? In that case, not many people run 17's because all of the good tires are only available in 18's.

The problem is..with a wheel like the CCW classic..(which is a very good choice btw)
It has a quite larged stepped lip. So the actual Face of the wheel inside is like 15" on a 17" wheel. Which will look quite small and being an Evo you wont get that super dish really either. So yeah I would say step up to a 18 or 19" if you're going to choose a wheel style like that.

The following R compounds are available in 17"

Hooisier A6
Hoosier R6
kuhmo v710
Kuhmo v700
victoracer v700
Toyo Ra1
Nitto Nt01
Advan a048
Hankookz214
Avon Tech R

I cant seem to find ANY r compunds that arent available in 17"!!!

Back to the point.... Id also like to see pics of the ccw classic in something like a 17x9.5 w/ the right offset so you could easily run a 275/40/17. Even though a 275/35/18 or 285/35/18 might fit a little better, a 275/40/17 is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper. For example: a 275/40/17 on frisbyracetire.com is $100 cheaper PER tire than a 275/35/18. If your going through a few sets each season, that $400 difference adds up.

Im not sure a 17" CCW would even fit as it might have clearance issues with the lip / barrel and the brakes. I think a 18" is as small as you can go. Like someone said previously .. the face on the 18" is like a 16" so on a 17" it would be a 15" and there isnt really any room left for the Brembos.

oWned him for damn sure! Honestly 18's arent that much bigger. It will also depend on the size of the side wall of the tire also.

17" Classic's are possible but just like the 18" Classic's caliper clearance is an issue. Just can't hit the correct offset (pads not thick/deep enough). In order to run the classics you really need extended studs and spacers. We suggest not to do this just do to the fact they really don't fit the car as spacers are needed. If you decide to go 18" the new C14 Corsair wheel would be the ticket. Sizes range from 18x8-18x13 with weights 18-20lbs. Most popular and best fit for your car would be the 18x9's. They're offered in Brushed/Clear Anodized and Brush/Black Anodized.

That was hillarious This is a good warning to all: be VERY careful with the information found on car forums... some people just pull the dumbest **** out of their asses.

, Well I guess I was wrong. Mabye I have the wrong idea about R-compounds, I thought they were non-DOT tires. I meant non-DOT tires. My dad said he wanted to step up from a 17" rim to an 18" rim, because he wanted "real" tires. I was basing my response from that. Obloviously you know more about this than me.
