hey guys thanks for the comments. I actually got advice from danny (ultimate cc) and he said its basically like putting a paperbag on top of the intercooler. but i do really like the look so im thinking of maybe having the paint removed? then respraying it with the right stuff...

my only question is, would taking the paint off damage the intercooler any further?? if it does anyone have a stock FMIC they would like to sell??

Atleast you seem to have a good attitude about the screw up. I'm sure it won't be too hard finding a stock intercooler around here.

yeah dude you used the wrong paint for sure. my father owns a radiator shop and its a latex based paint. and its not cheap you can get it from. air core (203) 368- 6800 (old quick rad) they can send you the right stuff.

You DEFINATELY used the wrong paint

Look good, but you are practically masking off the intercooler, and drastically decreasing its functionality.

Its like having a desk fan and putting a plastic bag on the back of it .....naturally the plastic bag gets sucked into/over the back of the fan since air is getting pulled into it. The same concept applies to the intercooler. It is driving air into it and with the incorrect paint its acting as a barrier/mask/net from the ambient air and the IC fins

There is a correct method to get the IC black and that will actually reduce temperatures and have functionality....its called anodizing
