I removed mine this weekend, saw the 3 holes in the grill, and then put it back where it belonged LOL. I ended up cleaning the emblem, painting it entirely semi-gloss black, then clearcoating it, and now it actually looks more aggressive & very nice! I like the look of it without the emblem, I'm just too lazy to repair/replace the entire grille...

When we replaced the intercooler and had the front bumper off we removed the front emblem brace. The brace is actually spot welded to the grill material, so there is no way of removing it w/o having some holes in the mesh. Like it was stated before you can barely tell unless you are specifically looking for it. It is way better than any badge you could think of.

Definitely a must on the IX!
