Lightbulb Front Grill Style

i want to take the front badge off my evo 9. its got that piller thing mounted to the plastic symbol. i want it all gone. black grill, anyone every done this? if so, how?

if i take the badge off, plastic and all, will the metal bar still be there?

If you take off the entire enblem, then there will be a hole in the black grill piece.

that blows. i want it gone, but i dont want the hole. i think all black grills with no emblems are hot... but if the hole is the outcome then **** it...unless there is any way around it? ie: new mesh girll peice?

You might be able to find an extra grill piece that covers the IC from someone. Big enough to cut for the right size.

i took my completely off. had to cut the grill a little bit but worth.

kinda hard to see but dont have any other pics

thats ****in sick. thats exactly what i am looking for. did you just go in through the hood and bumper, and take off the emblem? or more? and how the **** do i do that (besides those above directions that might as well be in Japanese)

The holes are still in the grill in the pic.
Unless you get a new grill you will have holes in it.
If anyone has a link to a new grill insert please post it. I have also been looking for this for some time now.

that evo above has the split grill, haha you cant take it off. but yeah its a sick way to go for style, the holes in the grill are pretty small though, i would just use some thin black wire and solder the small gaps, its not a lot and it would only take 30 or 40 minutes. im going to do mine this weekend, ill show you some pics then.

I would be interested in a new grill insert also if anyone makes them, or is willing to make them. I painted my emblem black, but I'd rather it be off completely.

i did it this weekend, im taking pics this afternoon and ill post it. the holes in the grill arent that bad, you can only see them from a few feet away, and at night its impossible, its nice though- im still going to try to find a new grill though.

I bought my Evo a month ago(evo 8) and it's missing several of the mesh inserts on the bumper(not the intercooler one thank god). The mesh parts from Mitsu are gonna come to $200 so F that. I think I'm going to get some mesh wire at Home Depot or something, paint it black and cut to fit. Good plan? Suggestions? Sorry to hijack.
