just a suggestion here... a guy I know has a honda civic with yellow tinted headlights and had a 3000K hid kit... looked great, but he was pulled over at least once a month for it with a fix it ticket. and I'll tell you, South Bend cops don't care at all about that stuff. He switched the bulbs to 3800K and hasn't been pulled over for the last 9 months or so.

You are wrong

6000k is the brightest, anything above or below that is just getting less bright.....
i sell HID conversion kits and have seen all the different K-values.

Never seen 3000k though

dont say wrong because it honestly depends on the bulb itself, and reflecter/projector. I've seen a lot of 4000K bulbs that were brighter then 6000K, and visa versa. Also people see highest brightnesses at different tempreture colors.

yeah, i thought that 3400-4300 were the best light output(whitest), that's why the oems use them.

Actually, you're wrong and telling these poor people you're selling your kits to misinformation buddo. The lower the kelvin temps, the brighter it is, please do research before posting nonsense like that.

there is somewhat of a misconception on the Kelvin scale.... 2500K-3000K is probably the brightest to the eye... anything lower than that starts to go into infared light which has a lower lumenosity [brightness] and anything higher then 8000K starts going into UV light.

Yes, the lower the kelvin rating means more lumens.

I don't see why anyone would go though the trouble of taking off the whole bumper cover, unhook the sprayer, pull out the headlights just to change the bulbs.

As soon as we see 50 degrees here I'm converting to a 10K HID ballast kit.

What is brighter, a red buld at 35w or a yellow bulb at 35w? The yellow and green spectrum has the most lumens to the eye. The Visable Spectrum and the Kelvin scale are very closely related.

I would figure the yellow since it seems to be more visible to the naked eye, but with both at 35w and the similarity between the two, there probably won't be much difference (that you can actually tell).
