Need help removing exhaust paint damage

I'm looking around for product(s) to help remove the "film" on the exhaust side of the rear bumper/trunk created by exhaust/unburnt fuel. I use Zaino products but I don't think a clay bar will help that much with this.

A friend recommended Poorboys swirl remover but I'm not so sure if I should go this route or just use a cleaner like alcohol or simple green. Alcohol worked on the tail light but I wasn't sure about using it on paint. (http://www.superiorcarcare.net/pbsr.html)

I think I'm going to purchase this buffer kit just to have on hand... http://www.autopia-carcare.com/sondas.html

Are you referring the the black carbon left by the muffler? If so simple green does wonders for this.

It's a combination of carbon, unburt fuel etc... it's more of a somewhat sticky film/haze than just carbon deposits.

I use a paint cleaner such as Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion. A paint cleaner will have no abbrasives that could scratch your paint. Swirl-remover is usally abrasive. If the area is well waxed it should come off with a spray detailer.

Ok so I used the new buffer today on this with the green pad and Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion. It worked well for most of the stuff but right above the exhaust its stained pretty bad.

I had a 20G-9-6 seize on me and a lot of nasty stuff went out the exhaust about a year ago. I'm going to take some detailed pics of this area so you guys can help me out

I'm learning how to use a buffer so I can make a little extra money on the side without feeling like karate kid =D I have a coat of Zaino to remove but after that I'll have pics up!

Seems like you have things well under control . Poorboy's products are great and unlike most can be used in direct sunlight or extreme heat. The stuff can't be beat for the price. They also have this "Spray & Wash Waterless Wash". Its like spray detailer but with more detergent. I keep a small bottle in the glove box with a few micro-fiber cloths. I clean the rear bumper a few time a week and have no problem with stains. It also works great on wheels and glass.
