Only problem is it is aluminum and it will oxidixe from the air. If you live in the north where it snows....forget it! I just repainted mine black. They turn silver on there own.

couldnt you just put a couple coats of hi-temp clear on it to keep it from oxidizing

Or you could purchase the Ralliart one if ya got the $$. And I feel that for the $180 for the Ralliart piece, that's just as easy as doing this work yourself. But I am all for doing things the cheap way as well. Plus you have the pride of doing it yourself!

I live in belgium Not much snow over here. Only few days a year.

Indeed Now it costs me nothing at all, only a bit work but i like to do that

p.s. : I'm out of bed now so in a couple of hours the vent will be ready

I just used paint remover and a hand sander and stripped mine. Looks great.

that's pretty different. can't say i've ever seen that before. i wonder if i'll be able to do that to the vent on my EVO VII hood that's coming in? good job!
