stay wingless!!!!
Everyone thought I was crazy when I went from my VIII which had power everything, stereo, hid's, sunroof, abs, etc... to my IX RS. But I honestly couldnt be happier w/ the car Its the raw nature that I think I love so much

mitsubishi didnt exactly delete the wing from the rs to 'reduce' weight. it was to give the buyer an option of what he/she wants to add later depending on the purpose of the car. you have to remember the rs is intended for those looking for a raw purpose built track car.
to wing or not is purely the owners preference, i own an rs myself and for the streets i rock the wingless however when im on the track i have my spare wing+trunk ready to go battle .

The philosophy is they expect the buyer to put on their own racing parts, so they dont' charge you for stuff that's going to get swapped out anyways like:
1. wheels
2. Recaro sport seats
3. Radio
4. A/C
5. Electric windows
6. lining/sound deadening/carpets
