Mitchubishi: FULL DETAIL WW EVO IX! 56K...why do you exist?

Hello all, this was a detail performed over a a day and a half for a forum member. He contacted me in hopes of getting the car looking better than new. I did not see the car before hand, but knew I had my work cut out for me. What's more, the day for the detail was the "one year" with the car! What a present to it! I had a ton fo claying to do once I discovered the enormous amount of paint contimination due to parking underneath power lines during rain storms...metal flakes off the lines and onto the paint, essentially rusting into the clearcoat.

As for the result, I'll let the pics do the talking.

Process was:

Exterior:
Wash
P21S Gel Wheel Cleaner and pressure washed on wheels....wow those were dirty!
HEAVY CLAYBAR (2.5 HOURS!!!)
Menzerna Intensive Polish on Meguiar's Polishing Pad
Mezerna Final Polish II on Meguiar's Polishing Pad
Poorboy's EX-P by hand
Aquawax wipe down with EX-P removal
Armorall on the tires

Engine bay:
Washed
All pastic dressed with 303 Aerospace

Interior:
Vacuumed
10:1 APC on all surfaces
Leather Conditioned
303 Aerospace on all vinyl
Windows inside and out with NXT Glass cleaner

Before:

Swirls:

Badge Removal, dirt around it:

AFTERS!:

No more swirls!

How is the claybar, I have been debating if I should do it or not. Seems like a lot of work and my car looks good after waxing.

I know on mine when I did it you can feel the difference when you rub your hand across the paint, it is so much smoother to the touch. Even my duster feels different across the paints surface. Definitely worth it IMO.

You see all those black and yellow and orange dots in the paint? Yeah, claying took care of that. DEFINATELY do it.

I wish I took more befores, but I couldn't lose more time on the detail...lotta time went into it.

Great work. I tried claying my rear bumper, just the top part, wore me out. To do a whole car for 2.5 hours, that would knock me out.

But what sucks is theres no set time a good wash will last. I spent hours on my car Sat., today, it rains, can't even tell I washed it anymore.

Oh, a question, when you removed the emblem, did it damage it? Like, do you think after you took it off you could put it back on? Just because mine is crazy dirty under it like that one and I want to take it off, clean it, and put it back on.
