I took the car out for a spin tonight. Some hard corners, some negatively banked turns etc.

I heard some rub and when I checked, it wasn't the fenders. I believe it was the inner fender lining. I'm running a 245/40/18 which is slightly bigger than the stock diameter. I think about .3 or .4 inches bigger so that may be the reason.

As far as width goes, the wheels/tires fit perfect. It's right at the edge of rubbing.

Nope.
If I cared, I wouldn't have bought 18's.

That's sort of one of my pet peeves...people caring about wheel weights.
A lot of those people care, then do some other useless modding to the car or buy extra wide wheels just to run stretched tires and cause more stress on their wheel bearings. Again. My pet peeve.

In my opinion, if you're concerned about weight and racing, you should be buying a quality lightweight forged rim. Gutting the interior and going on a diet to shed a few more pounds. It's awesome to see a guy doing all sorts of weight reduction only to be a 300 pounder who can barely fit into his CF seat.

I wrote a mini-review in my original post just now.

I need to get used to driving on summer tires again but they feel great right now.
