Tell your friend that it was a good try putting the whale tail of the turbo and the dual tips(only the turbo had them) but that the rear quarter panels reveals it is not a turbo, the rims also reveals is not the turbo and last but not least the front fenders aren't rolled out like on the turbo..

The front bumper has been cosmetically enhance, the orginal Porsche 911 comes with the fog light brackets mounted just bellow the front bumber, your friend has a additional bumber filler.

The whale tail on the Porsche turbos were there for a purpose, to ram air the flow to the horizontally left mounted
intercooler.

From what I know and have seen, it is a turbo.

[quote=revvin9k;4318541]From what I know and have seen, it is a turbo.

It could be a hit or miss but the turbo is much wider in the back and it clkearly has flare front fenders. Here is a link with a picture so that you see what I am talking about.

Look my links over and over, the real turbo car comes with a much noticeable wider fenders and extra wide rear quarter panels, your friends's does not have that on his car. His rims looks very thin with very wide donut tires that don't belong there, he put those to fill up the space. The regular carrera comes with tiny 205's in the front.

However the best and definitive way of telling is opening the rear tail and see the engine. Also the dash on those cars use to have a bar boost gauge. But I can't tell.

Now pay attention to these links, this is the same body as your friends(small front fenders and small rear quater panels)

Please, get more details, I insist that your friends's car is a non turbo carrera with the intent of making it look like the turbo(rear optional whale tail), twin tips in the back and donut tires to try to fill space on an already thin tires.
