Custom Interior....Looking for some input!

So I am in the process of working over my new IX MR SE. I have all the plastic dash parts and the window switch surrounds at the paint shop being painted piano black and will also be dealing with the cheap cloth on the doors, shift boot, and armrest but am not quite sure what to do. Keep in mind that I have the alcantara interior with red stitching on the seats. I am also trying to keep it clean and conservative, like it might have come from the factory if it was done right.

Option 1: Use alcantara on the door panel inserts, shift boot, and armrest with red stiching on all.

Option 2: Use leather on the armrest and shift boot for durability with red stitching. Do the door inserts in either all alcantara or half alcantara and half leather with red stitching.

Or??????

I am taking the interior parts in on Tuesday so i need to make my mind up soon. Thanks for any input!

Before someone suggest spending the money somewhere else, kind in mind that there is plenty to go around for this project so I am not scraficing anything by spending a few extra dollars making her pretty!

how about put a thin layer of generic suede or alcantara on every piece of plastic in the car?

just curious, how much were you spending on this?

you gotta post pics of what you do with the red stitching. I plan to do a similiar thing and wasnt sure how to work red stitching in. I think leather on high traffic areas is much easier to keep clean. But if you dont get in your car dirty a lot from work or w/e then I would stick with alcantra throughout. Either or would still look great.

I am pretty sure that I have seen pics of your interior and it is very nice.

I'm sticking to the factory alcantara w/red stitching on the seats. I had considered doing the headliner and A/B/C pillars but it isn't worth the trouble as I don't tend to keep my cars very long. But those doors and the shift boot REALLY bother me!

Hmmm, it would take like 2000 yeards of alcantara to coat all the plastic!

As to price, a good interior shop is about $350-1000 for what I am doing. The variance is due to quality of work and material, good alcantara can run from $50-200 per yard.

Looks like option 1 is winning!

OPTION 1 : black alcantara on door panels, pillars, and HEADLINER. make sure to incorp red stiching on anything with alcantara. rexspeed dry carbon dash kit w/ double din if you dont already have it would be a sick interior setup

Funny this thread is put up now. I'm actually doing my interior as I type this (letting the glue dry) on my headliner.

I've wrapped my headliner/all pillars in suede and painted all peices that are grey black (oh **** handles/visors etc...)

I'll post pictures when I'm done.
