vegas is fine. wasn't always sony. Can do anything FCP can. combined with After Effects and with the right plugins.. like magic bullet.

The dvx100a/b would be better than the gl2. More options and control, but little bigger. No LANC, either.

and i was looking at that camera too, im kinda looking at a lot, just saving up and going to pick 1

i was looking at canon because my DSLR is a canon 350D so im familiar with the compant

 

X2 for Sony Vegas! I've been using it for a year or so now and I love it. I haven't had my Evo long enough to make a decent vid, but trust me, one's on the way.

i also have a canon dslr and the pani video cam. Buy whoever makes the best, brand loyalty should take 2nd place. Been using vegas since it was SonicFoundry vegas 4. Can't beat it for the PC.
