Exhaust Heat Shield Options-Help me pick!

So I am looking for the best heat shield to cover the ugly excuse for a rusty manifold that visually assualts me every time I open the hood.

What are the best options?

These are the ones I know of and what I know/think of them:

Cusco - Nice unit that is well polished with an unobtrusive logo.
ARC - Awesome looking piece of Titanium with one of the world's dumbest name plaques to screw it all up(sorry, just my opinion but I still like it)!
Buschur Racing - Simple and inexpensive but doesn't seem to cover as much of the manifold as the others, no logo if memory serves.

Other worthy options?

The ARC looks much better in person. The name plate is a nice touch.

You could always try the Garage HRS one. I was just reading my own link and it says it's made by ARC. Funny so an extra $30 for the Garage name...

I actually love the Garage HRS part (same as the ARC with different logo) but you can buy the ARC for $140 and can't touch the HRS part for under $190. I'm not cheap but $50 more for the same part hurts the wallet!

BTW, I have always loved that engine bay shot!

I'm with you on that one. I wanted the Garage piece for the rarity. But i couldn't justify the money. And now that I know it's and ARC with a Garage name plate, that makes me even happier I got the ARC. I got the ARC cuz I thought it was the best looking. And descent price...

Good luck. The cusco looks nice. I just thought it was a little too polished, and no name plate. Just looked a little plain...

Thanks for the comment on mine!

Aerosync. $150 for it and the rear through Gruppe-S.

Actually, it is $199 for both or $150 for the rear and $120 for the front

I love the way they look but I can't imagine that the front brace is an improvement over the stock one as it isn't triangulated. For that matter, even the awesome looking ARC unit is probably a downgrade as it is titanium and titanium is noted for it's ability to flex which is a bad thing in a chassis brace. Don't mean to diss the braces out there but engineering is engineering.

As to the heat shield, I will go with the ARC unless I can convince myself to spend the extra $50 for the HRS which is like 1/2 a Ralliart oil cap.

titanium doesn't flex, every aircraft part failure i've seen that had something to do with titanium had nothing to do with flex, actually it's inability to do so results in it's cracking. i would take a titanium part over anyother material type in an engineering application where metal is a must over composite. other than that....hurray for carbon

Decided to bump an old thread. Anyone know what heat shield for the stock manifold covers the MOST? My manifold is rusty and I don't care if I buy an off brand or an ARC I just want it to cover up the manifold.

Thanks

I had the ARC and it covered it completely. Sweet looking too.
