Is there a way to remove just the top of the center console?

I scratched the crap out of my radio bezel so I just repainted it to color that was as close the factory as possible. However the paint is still off a bit so I also want to paint the top part (silver) of the center console so it matches evenly. Do I have to reove the whole center console to remove this piece or is there a way to do it with the center console still intact?

No you dont, Remove shift knob, remove ashtray, you will see one screw in there remove that, Also remove the dash piece cover thats around were the gauges use to be stock, Its 2 screws, Once you do that just pull up and it will snap out, Also remember to remove the light bulb for the ashtray, hope this makes sense..

that above link (2 post's up). I cant find that double din panel anywhere on that website. Anyone have a better link to a double din conversion (aside from the one on these forums)???

Thanks,
James
