You are partly wrong.

Yes a 50 watt 6000k does produce more lumens (usable light output) than a 35 watt 4300k bulb, but to get that light output an upgraded ballast would be needed to take advantage of the 50 watt bulb.

All factory HID systems use 35 watt ballasts.

Not sure the cost for upgraded ballasts but I'm sure they are over $125.00.

Bottom line a 4300k 35 watt bulb will produce more lumens than a 6000k 35 watt bulb.

Anything over 4300k is really just for looks, but to each there own.

. I'm just trying to say that it doesnt always mean that the 6000k is a downgrade! Coz there's always a choice to upgrade the balast to 50 watts output! so it means your 6000k bulb with 50 watts balast is BRIGHTER than oem's!

Right, that's if you did 50w bulbs AND ballasts. The whole schebang upgraded to 6000k 50w will be brighter than stock. But 6000k 50w bulbs with stock setup is not brighter than stock (4300k 35w). And if you were going to upgrade the whole schebang, 4300k 50w will still be brighter. Like it's been said, this is for the bluer look, but doesn't really hurt light output that much. Once you get past 6000k it looks bad. Blue pavement FTL.
