Most intercoolers look the same. My advice is to get the one that works the best/weighs the least.

For the money, you should look at the ETS 3" Wide Tank.

+1 especially if it's a IX becausde of the way the front bumper is designed. In addition most of the popular ones use Garrett cores and weld/fabricate the endtanks. I do have the AGP FMIC on my IX. The AGP FMIC uses a Garrett core but AGP has cast endtanks welded to their core which I prefer to the fabricated end tanks.

Pics below are from another thread, the car is not mine.

Do you have to trim/remove the undertray with the AGP?

How many mounting locations does the FMIC have? Is it just supported at the top?

With the group buy price of $475 shipped, I just couldn't pass up on this deal from AGP. hehe.. so I got mine yesterday and installed it on my VIII.

I had to shim out the top mount with washers to clear my fan.

I had to trim the corners of the bumper opening to clear the end tanks. Here's a before picture:

Here's how it looks with the bumper reinstalled:

The bottom of the AGP FMIC sits about 1.25" lower than the stock FMIC so the undertray needs to be trimmed.

Overall fitment is good. The bottom mount requires minor drilling to mount the self tapping bolts.

As far as weight goes, the AGP FMIC weighs 20 lbs on my bathroom scale. The stocker weighed 9 lbs.

Yes you have to either trim the factory undertray or remove it. I took mine off and used the Beatrush undertray instead.

It mounts from the top and at the bottom with self tapping screws as shown in the pic above.

I know this thread is almost a year old but wanted to see if any other IX owners had feedback on this intercooler. Was the fitment good? I notice it doesn't have mounts on the side, wonder if that matters? Do the endtanks also look nice with a good design?

It's an old post but I am interested on how this ic performs for those that have it. Are you happy with it? Good quality? Any information would be helpful, I am looking at it and with a price of ~$400.00 it looks very tempting to buy.

Just Picked one up a few weeks ago.. right now they're at the lowest pricing!! Luckily I live in arizona (AGP located here) so i walked out the door with a Brand new one for $395! Talked to one of the employees who was selling his old one with red AGP logo on it for $200 if you're interested in that you might want to call them up and see if they still have it.. keep in mind, that one is used so its about 8/10 condition.

as far as quality goes these IC's are great quality with nice welds and I'm very happy with mine! they are definitely heavier then the stock IC though but it dwarfs stock unit. I think they fit better on 9 bumper cause I had to do zero cutting although i don't have my stock undertray no more or else i might of had to cut that.. seems from the above pics some cutting is required on the evo 8 bumper.

I can't really explain it as its probably all in my head but my car seems to pull harder.. I will be getting retuned on dyno this saturday so lets see if i make any more power.. atleast I won't heatsoak anymore.

Amazing intercooler. I have one on my IX and will never use anything else. I race my IX with NASA AZ and I have never had an issue with it. It looks great and performs even better. This is a killer holiday sale, you will not find a better 3.5" Intercooler for $400.00 bucks, period. AGP will take good care of you.
