APR Carbon Fiber Splitter on Evo IX with SE Lip
#19
I must say after looking at a lot of these pics. I know it would defeat the purpose of the APR spitter but the splitter without the hangers would look so much cleaner. Does anyone have that set up? If so, post i would love to see it.

Not having the rods there still lets the splitter work, but you need to find a way to reinforce the front without them. I used a combination of bolts and spacers inside the bumper to compensate for that. The rear is reinforced by getting bolted to your engine/transmission crossmember.
I also bought steel flat stock just in case I needed to fab up some brackets, but i'm really not generating a dangerous amount of downforce with how I have the splitter set up (slightly pushed back for a cleaner look).
This splitter is multi-functional. It's also worth noting that the stock IX SE lip cost around $400.00 shipped unpainted, another $300.00 for decent paint, you'll be at $700.00 for a new oem lip, which is around the same price as a new oem JDM rear bumper unpainted. Thus, it's nice to have an APR splitter/undertray as an insurance policy.
Let me know if you have any questions.

I agree. And yes, I just finished doing exactly that as well as the rexpeed skirts. I apologize in advance for the crappy pictures.
