Edit " Sorry my first post made no sense least not to me, let me explain that better"

Ok The APR splitter fits Great on the IX with SE lip, You will have to shave/cut some plastic under the SE lip in order to make the Splitter Fit flush and be level/even on both side. When i did this i found that the right side of the SE lip's under side plactic was a bit different then the left and need to be worked "Shaved/cut" a bit more to even it out.
Hope that makes better sense...

I contacted APR about having gaps between splitter & lip they said~

"Your splitter will work more effective if you can close any gaps
between the bumper and splitter"

Here's a few shots at different angles...

Awesome. Thanks!

I like how you hid the holes you had to drill into the bumper.

I may pick this up. Think it would look good on my WW.

I was trying the same thing. after much research and asking around on the forum, I decided to sell my apr splitter due to the fear of breaking it to shreds with a lowered evo. Something to consider, plus I have a monster driveway =/

Its a pretty resilient piece, im not lowered but ive nose dived it on steep drive way, grinded it on a parking stop etc etc. not cracks or anything yet, not sure how it would handle a direct impact though...

Thanks Pr3z, yea i saw how others put the struts and didnt like that look or the holes.

I just installed mine two weeks ago (Evo VIII bumper). But I do suggest using more washers then what's provided. They do not provide enough washers. To be safe I used BIGGER washers, one on the bottem (allen head) and one on top (nut) where it bolts to the bumper.

The nut is just slightly bigger than the whole in the tabs on the bumper. This is Mulholland0132's theory which I agree with as to why many people's have ripped off at high speeds.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...t=apr+splitter

The other day I was behind a car going up a mountain when the car in front of me decides to swerve off the road and throw rocks literally the size of baseballs out onto the road. I hit one with the splitter. Only damage was a 1" area of the black trim was busted off. No big deal (fixed with electrical tape ). The splittler seems to be much stronger than you'd think.

Looks good on the IX/SE bumper. Good luck!

Ya i read alot of those posts before i got and put this on the main reason people had them rip off is there did not install them correctly/torque bolts properly/ use all bolts/rushed the install etc, true though a few extra washers does not hurt i think i used about 2 to 4 extra washers on more stressed points no more then that though, just to be on the safe side.

Like anything it has to be maintained as in checked every now again to look for loss bolts or signs of cracking around the mounting points etc.

I cant speak for Evo 8 bumpers but for the 9's APR sends all the hardware needed to safely and correctly install this splitter, Adding extra/better washer/bolts to be proactive does not hurt anything though.

Just take your time with the install and do it right, you wont have any problems.

^ hmmm I actually like how it looks. You might be able to get away without using the rods, but that would defeat the purpose of the splitter I guess.

Is it for a different car maybe?

It's for the 2006 evo which I have lol. I'm "going to have to have to drill my own holes and clamp the bunoer down in the correct position due to flexing and how the SE lip is" according to apr. But I do love how it looks
