Painting the FMIC is a bad idea because you might want to take it back to stock someday and you don't want to buy a stock fmic because the original has paint residue on it. I agree with man-law. Retaliation is necessary. I think you should retalliate with vinyl though. That way you can make your point, then take it off whenever you don't feel like you want it anymore. Also, you can be more creative with your come-back.

This is just a bad idea in general. Maybe it's for kicks, maybe it's for an intercooler you can swap out at leisure, but it's still somewhat lame to put in that much effort.

At any rate, you can get paint off of an intercooler. It's called HVAC condenser coil cleaner. That's what it's made for. To get anything off of air conditioning condenser coils.
