M3 over the evo in the sense that it has many things the evo has, and then some (luxury, badge, class).

for outright performance though, a modified evo still owns (given an M3 can be modified too, you just need plenty of coin).

Congrats.

My M3 was pretty modified, but still could not keep up with my Evo 9 with bolt ons. The S54 is so stressed from the factory that it is hard to make any real power without forced induction. The M3, I think, is still a better car overall than the Evo because of the interior, and grown up looks, but in terms of pure sportiness and fun factory, the Evo takes the cake.

Sorry but Evolution > M3. Glad to hear you're enjoying the M3 though. They are very nice cars.

I heard that you cant do a oil change on bmws because it requires special tools and computers (or is it Audi).

It's hard to compare the two cars. It really is. The price tag alone isn't even close. The only way I'd choose an Evo over an M3, without money being an object, is on a track. I'd much rather drive an M3 everyday than an evo.

For those saying BMW's aren't reliable, the last I checked, Mitsu's weren't much better.
