honest both wheels are ugly

 

I normaly like the black on black but the gold looks much better than the black with silver lip.. the gold looks much better with the red brembo caliper.

 

I like the gold, but do something with those tails...

Both look nice. Im going to have to say the gold looks a little nicer.

 

I like for rims to be a complimenting color for the car, kind of like they should stand out. The blacks with the polished edge look great, and I'm getting an almost identical set (Enkei RZ-5s), but that's to compliment a yellow evo. The black ones on your car just seem to blend in too much and not make a statement. Gold FTW in this case.

 

Gold seems to have the edge right now. Thanks for the responses. It's nice to hear the opinions. I like the look of either satin or gloss black for the wheels too, but I'm worried that black is a bit played out. So many people (not just evos) have black wheels right now. The gold would be a bit different, especially around here, except for the subarus.

Just so everyone knows future cosmetic plans are for some Swift springs. I've been looking at them for a while and I know I need a drop. I don't track the car so coilovers just aren't worth the extra cost for me. Also, I've already got blacked out tails, and I plan to go with some JDM style headlights and probably smoked side markers. Swapping out the rear UK badge for a black one and some carbon fiber Mitsubishi Emblems. I'm going to get a Do-Luck style front lip and probably call it good with that.

if you like another style of rim (you mentioned advans) why not just save the money for those? Looks like you did a very nice job at painting the stockers. I would leave them as they are. Seems it would be nice to be able to change up the color combo now and then.
