Balance shafts.... I ask myself that question once a day. I'm not sure yet. If I do remove them then I'll probably have the whole rotating assembly balanced.

Yeah I gave up on using the front jacking position because I couldn't get my jack in there, thus my seam is all mangled like you said. There's no easy way to do it with the car low. I might build inserts for rally style jack stands as well.

Still keeping an eye on this thread, hoping to get over there and check out what you're doing.

we are doing the same sort of jack mounts...

you have a very nice platform now to make a FUNCTIONAL rear diffuser.... people dont understand that a rear diffuser is really not functional unless its being fed by a flatbottom...

cheers

cb

ill send you some spy shots of ours when i have more done.

Yes, you will need it all balanced for sure, ideally a Fluidampr in addition.

JMartinez, AFAIK ^those^ rally jack points have another tubular piece that go inside fabricated tubular ports into the frame.

My friend has air jacks in his drift S13. They weren't as expensive or hard to install as one might think, but that's another story.

Yeah a good rear diffuser is on the list once I finish the motor rebuild project and get some test data behind the other parts. I'll probably prototype something in sheet metal or wet layup carbon and then have the production parts thermoformed.

Your flat bottom should be pretty cool on standoffs like you mentioned in your thread. Just need to make sure the spring rates are high enough to keep it from grounding out or make the standoffs spring loaded so the flat bottom can move up. Kinda like those cheating F1 boys.

Look into the new "Under floor Air Guide" for the new EVO X from Mitsubishi.
Instead of covering all the under floor, they will install these guides to remove the air from under the car.
Its option #23 in the 08 lancer evo accesories pn MZ575842ex
