my boring video..show me yours..IF!
just got a suction camera mount yesterday, (the cleat) from filmtools.
Boring video I know, please dont make this thread 5 pages long telling me is boring!
....Im just playing with it for the first time around the neighborhood.
I need some ideas for a new video-cam...small, lightweight, but with an IS mode that I can really enjoy
for a point & shoot the s5is is great for daytime videos "handheld"
not so great on the car or my bikes
so, make this thread a "show me" your camcorder and video, IF you really think IS WORTH IT .....in other words, free of camera shake and vibrations.
I have seen thousands of great videos here, youtube and all over the net so please dont re-post them unless you have the camera brand and model to go with it

Nice launch right there at the end.
I too did my first video - just two days ago actually also using a "point and shoot" digital.
I think the way to add more excitement is more shorter cuts from various angles. I mixed a bit of "action movie" style (lots of short takes) with some TopGear influenced styling queues.. zoom in on bumper, logo, low angled views.. etc.
So here it is... Reviews also appreciated.

no marks at all, just make sure u clean the area first.
this thing will not come off! go to this guys video (8 min mark)>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ikeba0NO-Y
you will literally damage the hood or fenders on the evo before u even try
youtube and photobucket both suck on video quality...they never look the same as the original.
editing is another area, nice video there "Evo_Someday"
what Im looking for is a video-cam Consumer-Friendly?$$$ that is capable of shooting smooth videos even when u ride low on coilovers and a 35 low profile tire

Here's an original video I made just using regular canon SD1000 point and shoot:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4rw7uVTYeA
I used a cheap bestbuy mount (~$20) which works ... alright: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1176506228750
The vibrations are real bad going over NJ roads, every bump gets transferred to the mount just because the camera is so cantilevered from the suction mount.
Just don't use this on the outside of the car unless you feel like losing your camera

thanks guys....
"xiove" that video doesnt look that bad... considering that mount, HWY speed and bumps.
I guess the IS mode on mine is fried ...on or off they both look bad.
"importjake00" are you sure?
...forget the camera I need water and soap

Thanks! I edited out some of the really bad recording. It was so bad that you'd get a headache watching it. I find that if you play around with the framerates during post-processing, you might be able to mitigate the shake in the video while not totally degrading playback. This totally depends on the frequency of the vibration of course...
