Robispec hood and trunk weave

So i'm in the market for a cf hood and trunk. Do any of you know if Robispec's are 2x2 weave? Need it to match w/my voltex rear diffuser and chargespeed sides. If they're not 2x2, anyone know which brands are? May end up w/a Voltex cf hood.

I think they're 2x2 weave. But between the hours of your 2 posts, a quick 2 minute call to them could of confirmed it .

Quick FYI. Most hoods will be 2x2 twill (prolly 5.7oz fab). Anything that need to hold its integrety is most likely going to be of 2x2 with varying wheight.

It's 2x2... the only 1x1 you'll find will be Chargespeed, Ralliart, Do-Luck, Varis and a few others. Even the C-West is 2x2... sucks IMO. I'm still looking for a Chargespeed trunk.

Thanks guys. May just end up w/the Robispec's lighter than the Vis and Seibon hoods.

Introducing 'Downforce Composites' Carbon Fiber Hood & trunk. Very happy with overall quality and fitment.

**Mods, Please note this is not 'show-n-shine' material. These are very thin & light construction on purpose. Only reason for these parts was to loose weight.

Please also understand that I weighed all this on my bathroom digital scale, so actual weight will vary a little but I feel these numbers are very real.

Lets just put it this way.. I could pick the hood or trunk up with my pinky finger.

DC Hood Weight: 11 lbs
OEM hood weight: 18.5 lbs

DC Trunk weight: 7 lbs
OEM trunk weight: 22.5 lbs

Oh, and I also put on a JDM evo9 rear bumper & removed the rear bumper support.
another 18 lbs off the car...

total weight shedded: 41.5 lbs

hey nils,
two questions...
do you not need to run pins on that hood or was that just when it was first mounted up and they weren't installed yet?

also, how much reinforcement was necessary on the trunk to handle the load from the wing mounts?

thanks,
sean

Yes that is a 2x2 twill. And that 45lbs saving is only if you had a sunroof.
