1. It might just be a personal thing for me, but I always like seeing the entire subject unless there's something that *really* pops about the cropped portion that can catch and keep the viewer's attention.

2. There's something about the intentionally artificial-looking HDR's that I'm not too fond of, but that is definitely a personal thing. HDR certainly has it's place as a legitimate photographic tool, that's for sure. Maybe if that dark HDR shot with the red car in the background was brightened up a bit?

3. BW has saved a TON of photos for me when lighting wasn't exactly ideal. I take all my photos in color and just add the BW in pp, so that way you're not limited to just the BW version. Sometimes I prefer the overcast days or tricky light situations it really gets me thinking and focusing on composition, rather than scenery or details.
