Evo X seats in my Evo 8!

Evo X seats in my Evo 8!
I had the opportunity to pick up some X seats from a local customer that I am doing some really fun projects on his Evo X....but that is another story.
First off I really liked the support of the X seats from the first time I sat in them. I especially liked the color of them as well. The blue cloth on the 8 seats is not my favorite pattern.
So I picked these up thinking...Oh sure, they will bolt right in! Not even close. Brackets are completely different. To make matters worse, the brackets on the X seats are welded to the sliders. The 8 brackets are bolted to the sliders. The X sliders are bolted to the seats from the side. The 8 sliders are bolted to the seats from the bottom. See where this is going lol. I quickly realized this was not going to be a quick swap.
The best solution I could come up with is unbolt the brackets from the 8 seats (after carefully measuring the seats and the studs and holes in floor). Then I had to cut off the brackets off the brand new Recaro X seats haha like it...the point of no return
It took a little bit of time but it came out great and I am real happy with the outcome and how perfect the seats fit. I am now going to look into reupholstering the rear seat centers to match the fronts.
On with the piqs!
The new seats awaiting surgery and then their new home!
The stockers that will become gaming seats for the PS3=)
The X seat with the brackets that won't work
These simply won't work!
The brackets that had to be cut off the X seats.
I was so excited to see how they fit I forgot to take piqs of the 8 brackets welded onto the X seats... oh well.
Another fun project,
