You might want to look into powder coating if you want black. Unfortunately there will be a dimensional change. Be sure to have the threads masked.

I once had an engineer get upset with me since I worked at a golf store and he said we are using up all the titanium to make drivers...if he only knew about Ti lugnuts.

I am looking into PVD at this point. I don't want to affect the stability/strength of the material. I did talk to a high-end lab with a proprietary process, but their base pricing for blackening titanium is $400 lol. Said lab also asked me which alloy of titanium I was using, hence my original question reagrding the specific alloy used for these lugnuts.

Nah, I don't. Tn fact, I'm just a CBRD dork who likes to track his car and wants the best compromise between weight and strength....and I HATE how chewed up aluminum lugs get....so these were a very easy choice for me to purchase.

I am interested in that also even though I probably wouldn't purchase these till I bought some aftermarket wheels...

Erik did you ever get them done in black?

So according to the weights posted before, you will loose about a half a lb per wheel correct? To me they are worth the price especially if they are paired up with a light weight brake setup & light weight wheels...every little bit helps...
