Is that a dry carbon hood? How does it look in person with dry carbon up front but wet on the trunk and roof? I think this is something pictures wouldn't do justice to and am curious.

Wolf mentioned a sunroof on the CF hood. Would you seriously want to go through the trouble of this work being done just to add the weight and complexity of a sunroof? Also, as mentioned throughout the thread, this is the CF roof from AMS.

56 pounds off the car from the roof and moonroof.

It took Cory (eviltsi, above, is his user name here) about 2.5 hours to cut the spot welds and pop the seams. He took his time and it came out absolutely MINT!

We are going to attach an RS headliner and if all goes well, the car is going off for an 8-second certified cage this weekend. It's going to be painted the same EB blue as the car. I'm sure it will be a heck of a lot easier to do a cage without the roof in the way...

Once it's back, we'll get the roof attached and all that fun stuff.

The roof is not super glossy, and I think I will use a sealant that isn't super reflective on it to help tone it down, then find out what can use on the dry carbon hood and trunk to help shine it up and it should all come out looking even.

The difference between the carbon lip and the dry carbon hood is drastic... But it doesn't bother me too much because of the shiny blue bumper. It's all going to even out in the end I think. If not, and it looks retarded... MAYBE we'll get a IX bumper to remove the cf lip... But i haven't suggested that to Emery quite yet.

Thanks! Yeah, like Cory said, I wasn't scared at all, I was actually pretty excited to get pictures of sparks Tell you what, that orange looks beautiful in contrast with the EB!

Cory took some damage though... the sparks kept going up his sleeve

Now, after doing this is there any loss in rigidity? Is it pretty much required to put a cage in after this mod or is it just as safe as stock(the roof I mean). I would love to do this because I am a weight saving ***** but I don't want to cage my car.
