Do it, but make sure you get the badge for the front.
IX headlights would finish it off, but if its out of the budget, try just painting them black.
you say you feel the 8 bumper to look dated? I think honestly the chrome head/tails make it look dated.
the comments about the 8 CF lips/ducts are a great idea.. would cost about the same in the long run though, so chose you poison wisely.

[QUOTE=Remixx02;7243207]Not to throw this thread completely off topic; Evo IX bumper FTW!
haha agreed but the above posters are right, do what you want because at the end of the day, it is your car after all

You could always cut out the nose on your VIII bumper , giving it a new edgier yet stock look. After seeing this done correctly i have to admit...it's a toss up between which is nicer the IX or VIII. Do a search on it. You'll see what i mean. Good luck

The Evo IX looks better than the VIII in OEM form, but if you cut off that stupid nose the VIII front end looks very very aggressive.
If I had an Evo VIII I wouldnt bother wasting time/money finding a IX bumper, I'd just go a head and cut off the mitsubishi nose.
Check it out: (not my car)
Also you could add a mitsubishi sign in the middle, like how the IX's have theirs. Just so it doesnt look too empty, but left a lone still looks good.

i have that bumper. my wife sister hit a curb so im fixing the crack now.
and to do the Chopped Nose VIII, i hear it cost alot of money if done correctly. Someone was on here awhile ago talking about it and cost him over $500 to do it.

who gives a fuc what people think. if you do thats sad. Design your evo the way you see fit please dont be a clone and go off others ideals instead of your own. after all you make the payments you drive it do whatever you feel hell run no front bumper if you like. i personally dont like the 8 or 9 bumper thats why i sold mine but its ok to put a 9 front on after all there both still the same car a evo is a evo man.
