what susp do you have on your car? i thought the widest tire a evo could handle was 255 or only some 265

Evo 8 and 9s are limited to narrower tires than Xs, but I still have about 1/4" of clearance from the inside sidewall of the 275/35-18 NT01s to the threaded bodies of my Megan coilovers.

In the rear, the inside tire sidewall is within 1/8" of the lower control arm... I doubt I could fit 285/30-18s without a 5mm spacer and longer studs. Also, all of my fender lips are rolled, and my rear spring rate (600#) is enough to keep the tires from compressing too far into the fenders.

Your ride looks awesome Hsun!!! This is definiately an awesome street and track setup for the Evo 8/9. Be sure to keep us up to date with your results from this season

While most street and lightly tracked cars will run a 255/35/18 or 265/35/18 (fits great on the 18x9.5 wheel) you can definiately go wider if needed. Dedicated track cars can take advantage of this setup and run some massive 275's (We even have one customer who recently put a slightly wider/shorter 285/30/18 tire on his 18x9.5 DPT's ). A 265/35/18 will still perform very well and be more than enough for most street/track cars

(a lot of variance because of the different amount of stick-on weight required for balancing).
Just curious if the wheels were hard to balance or is it just the 275's that required the amount of weight to balance.......I've read a few posts that noted a balancing issue w/ Rotas.........Appreciate your comments.......BTW, Your shadow is very tall
