Tonba's 'Monster Machine' JDM Evo 8

Hey All.

I thought I would post up a car 'diary' for my EVO. (Finally).

Basically, What Im trying to create, is a tough street car, that can hold its own on the track or strip witout changing much more then rims...

Goal: Build a tough, Balanced street car (braking, handling, looks & power) that will consistantly run in the low 12's down the quarter in street trim with no lauch & Sub 1:07's around wakefield on the same setup, while still being a daily driver...

So here Is how it stands at the moment...

Cheers,
Alex

You have a nice ride there, love the RHD. You seem to have all the parts you need to meet your goals so with a good tune you should have no issues.

Also thinking about sending my manifold to them for thier Rev2 treatment, and my throttlebody to MIL.SPEC for some lovin by them..

Do you guys think the gains will be worth the time and effort??

Everything is fine on your particular build list....except for that turbo, mate. If you are looking to upgrade something, then swap out the turbo. You can easily do better for sure.

Awesome intentions, although I'm pretty sure we all tried to talk you out of that turbo kit in another thread. I have always wanted to put R34 wheels on my car, I'm jealous! They look amazing.

^ You did try and talk me out of it, but I went for a drive in a car with a 2.2L, T67-25G, Cosworth Head + BC280s, and it was plenty good for me...

Besides, the price is just too good to beat.. one day Ill upgrade to something REALLY good.. but for now, its just going to have to do untill I get the money..

Still... What are your thoughts on the port work?

Thanks for the comments guys! Its really encouraging to get positive comments about the car, and the build...

Im now running R34 GT-R Rims on the street, and R33 GT-R rims on the track.. lol. I love the width and offset...

Yup, nice rims there buddy. Your Evo looks nasty.

E.T.S. fabs a 6-inch thick intercooler that would look nice on the front of your car.

Nice build Alex. I have only run across one 25G/T67 car but it was a 2liter, looks the like the 2.3 makes it a little more fun.

Your goals could of been reached with just the stock turbo, cams and a turbo back and tune. If you going to upgrade the motor and turbo and everything your goal should be more of 10sec dd.

Sorry if im sounding like a dick its just crazy to do all that stuff for low 12s lol.
