Do you know how much weight the sunroof adds and that extra weight on the top of the car is the worst place for it?

With the steel roof and sunroof combined I'd say probably 30lbs or so. Nobody is going to convince me that the extra 30 or so pounds is gonna be felt on a street car. I've had both a 03' with a sunroof and a 06' with an aluminum roof and cant tell a difference. Frankly because of that I'd take a sunroof over a aluminum roof any day of the week.

Sunroof any DAY of the week. i understand the weight but again a street car with some track use i love it on sunny days just opening it up and letting it all air out. I went from a convertible spyder to this i love it. Glad i dont have to deal with a leaking top anymore

I have always enjoyed sunroofs. It is nice having something open other than the windows while on the freeway.......Man that fake sunroof is the best thing ever

I've read that swapping out the sunroof for a carbon roof can save a whopping 75lbs. That's 75lbs off the highest point of the car, very important, IMO. If my VIII ever became track/weekend only, I would certainly consider it. As of right now, I very much enjoy opening it fully when the weather is decent.

I have a sunroof on my Eclipse and I love it. It's especially nice because the second you pop that thing after the car has been sitting in the sun, the hot air is instantly gone. Bad thing is they seem the break a lot on Eclipses. Apparently not many people on this site have sunroofs because this thread is kind of weak. Did any pre X Evos come with one stock?

Whats your point?

Roof test

Time without the weight... 50.332

Time with the weight....... 50.271

Wheel test

Enkei time... 1:04.99

BBS............. 1:04.70

I use my car as a weekend commuter and kid hauler. Looking at the test results, the aluminum roof didn't do anything for it so give me a sunroof anyday. Even if it did help the difference would be so small that it wouldn't be noticable to me. To the average guy that just drives his car he is not going to notice .29 difference between the Enkei and BBS wheels. He's just gonna like the look of one of them better.
