Evo tuners! We need new gauge overlays!
C'mon Vishnu, Vivid, and all the rest.....the only option we have right to cover up those nasty stock guages is a $650 Ralliart indiglo replacement? And it doesn't even read in MPH!
Let's get some interest going for an AFFORDABLE (read, under $300) way to make the guages in our cars look better. I mean, the gauges in my '97 Toyota Rav-4 look nicer (no joke).
We don't need gaudy body kits and even more catbacks....we need products that address the stock car's shortcomings!
puhllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeez?

I'd like to see something cheap that changed the red on black to black & white so I can read the damn thing. On a sunny day wearing dark glasses I can't read the speedo worth a ****.

A completely cluster replacement, then.
And yes, if the overlays were professional and weren't rice, I would pay $300. Do you understand how gauges are assembled? The backing can be replaced/removed on many types of gauges without having to lay something over the face so you're not actually covering something up, but replacing it.
The stock gauges are atrocious looking.

Hear Hear! Either way, stock gauges suck! Day or night, shades or no shades - I am sure I am not alone with this opinion but do realize that others are just fine (I hate putting all these disclaimers for fear of offending someone ;-). I'd even pay $600 for a readable cluster with an integral boost gauge.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I wanted to bump it.
I'd love to have an overlay option. I can't believe one doesn't exist with the EVO VIII and all the various lower Lancer models all sharing the same size cluster.

it would be nice to have the boost guage in the section that reads "lancer"...but the existing seatbelt and door open (?..been a while since I payed attention to those things) warnings would need to be moved i guess.
I would be interested but not for that kind of cash (300-600) unless the boost guage was in (even then ~300 only)
