You can use a carpet cleaner to do it. Not one you rent, but one that is used to clean your house, you know one in a truck mounted system.
Long time ago when I worked at a auto detailing place, we used a pressure washer, not full pressure, but enough to clean them good use some type of soap or cleaner, then just wipe water off and let them dry in the sun.
Both are good methods, but the truck mounted is easier and less water gets on them.
