The rarest RS of them all
I have just a few mild mods:Evo IX DV, Evo V seat, SS brake lines, Weds TC-005,Tephramod Evo VII ECU, rear strut tower bar, and motor mounts, and a few thing I haven't installed yet like buddy club spec 2 exhaust, Racetech RT9000 seat.
I've have my build planned out but want to make sure I can get it to the US before I start going crazy with parts.

I have an RS related question! Anyone have a manually adjustable brake bias for front to rear bias adjustment? I can very easily with Hawk HP plus pads and DBA rotors lock my rears up under moderate/heavy braking. I am going to put some new rubber on the car before making any crazy steps towards adjusting brake bias, but I believe the car could benifit from more front brake and less rear. Any thought?
Thanks Craig

True! The non-US RS are really hardcore cars. They are uncomfortable, noisy, but very fast and light!
People may be wondering how come the JDM/non-US RS comes with no Recaros or rims.
No Recaros - the seats are normally thrown out for real race seats, so no need to put Recaros if they will just be thrown out.
Steel rims - these are the stuff usually changed first. The Enkeis would surely be removed also in favor of rally spec rims or other race rims.
The wing is still left on as this is the same wing used during rallies.
I wonder why the US RS is different. Instead of removing the Recaros and Enkei rims, they removed the wing!

yeah.. they didnt bring the "true" rs to the US becuase of fear of sales... we are a very picky breed..lol... even if we get the "stripped" model, it still has to have some bells and whistles.. im actually really happy they did it to be honest... i love my recaros and to my knowledge, the jdm rs' didnt come with brembos either? correct?

I know that Tilton makes in car bias adjustment knobs, that pair up with their proportioning valves. So racecars can adjust front to rear brake bias on the fly during a race. i don't think there is a bolt on replacement, so some custom brake lines might need to built.I just want a little more front brake, and a little less rear. quoted from another evo forum

Negative, I'm not sure were you got your numbers but they are way off for both the 5 and especially the TME. There were under 5000 total TME made, and 220 RS's produced for the Japanese market. There were 141 RS's exported but Mitsu never officailly exported them, so I beleive those 141 were from the same production run that the 220 JDM RS's came out of. Even if all those 141 were made for foreign markets, which the were not. It would total 361 total TME RS's produced. That 220 I personally counted using Mitsu ASA program to run every TME chassis # from CP9A-0200001 thru CP9A-0203425 where it ends. legally importing a car to the US requires alot research just to apply for it.

I am looking for the article in one of our local magazines about the 5 RS, about it being made in a separate factory from the production line with 5000 units worldwide produced. Maybe this goes for both GSR and RS but our local shops tell me that the Evo 5 RS is even more rare than the GSR model.
I also saw a few 6.5 TME here colored gray being sold brand new way back, with power windows and Recaros with an etched Tommi Makinen Edition on it. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that these are RS2 models since they never came out with LHD GSR models.
