My Apline charges and plays. The New Alpines I believe shouldn't need a Scosche Passport.

this is a 9886 which isnt old. the only ones i know that dont need it at all are the media players.the 9886 isnt old. but it has a lot to do with what ipod your using since the old ones use a 12v and the new ones use 5v .the passport is just a regulator
