lol i know the zietronix is slightly crooked i have to go back in and starighten it. as far as the process goes i have no pics of it,sorry.
i used the alpine which comes with the cable. next you need a scosche passport which is a little box that will allow the alpine to charge and play the iphone. if you have an older ipod this wont be necessary.
and the actual mount is made from a ipod dock insert and a plexiglass wedge which allows the iphone to lean back more. because with the stock dock insert its to upright to see or access.ill pull it out and take more pics of the dock

evo iphone connecter in more depth
heres a few things to note about the job.
first its crucial that you cut the whole as far left as possible, because if you dont the connector will hit the linkage slightly.
next the alpine connector from the cable will have to have its large bulky casing removed and replaced because it too will be in the way.
as far as the dock itself. its a basic dock insert from an iphone dock. i chose the largest one because you never know what cae you may be using on your phone.also many good cases come with a dock insert and you can use one of those, which is the cheapest way.
i cut a piece of plexiglass strip about 5 inches long and half inch tall and glued it to the bottom of the dock and heated it to wrap it around carefully using a lighter, then used the dremel to create the wedge you see in the side view pic. you need this to make it lay back more.
the passport is glued into the dock connector. which also needs to be dremeled out so it fits in. also u can see in the pics i reinforced the connector with plexiglass pieces glued in.
it snaps in with no glue if the hole is cut just right, but if not you can glue it in.
if you arent using an iphone you wont need the passport.this will make it much easier because you wont have to worry about hitting the linkage. any questions? sorry if this isnt the greatest write up, im a tech not a writer lol
